The Springvale Riesling from Grosset Wines represents what the Clare Valley can do when Riesling meets calcareous soils and cool nights: taut structure, clear fruit, not a gram of anything superfluous.

Jeffrey Grosset is considered one of Australia's most influential winemakers — his winery in the Clare Valley, about 130 kilometers north of Adelaide, has put the region on the international map. The Springvale comes from the vineyard of the same name in the northern part of the valley, where the soils are particularly mineral-rich and temperatures are moderate even in the Australian summer. The winery works organically.

In the glass, the wine shows lime, lemongrass, and a hint of white grapefruit — the typical aroma profile of an Australian Clare Valley Riesling, underpinned by a lively, firmly integrated acidity. The palate is precise and lean, the finish long and marked by a slight mineral saltiness.

Served at 10–12 °C, it pairs well with grilled barramundi, scallops with lemon butter, or a light Asian fish curry. It also makes a fine figure as a standalone aperitif.
