Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru AC Grand Cru 0.75L

The Grands Échezeaux are among the most coveted Grand Cru sites of the Côte de Nuits — a narrow rectangle between Vougeot and Vosne-Romanée that produces Pinot Noir with a depth that is rarely found. The Domaine Thénard, known for its estates in Burgundy and Bordeaux, manages a parcel share here that consistently brings the classic style of this site into the bottle.

In the glass, it shows a transparent ruby red with a violet shimmer. The nose opens with ripe cherries, raspberry confit, and an undertone of damp forest floor and violet — typical for Pinot Noir from this corner of the Côte de Nuits. On the palate, the tannins appear silky and well-integrated, the acidity gives the wine contour without sharpness. The finish is long, with a mineral hint and a touch of licorice and clove.

Best served at 16–17 °C, ideally decanted an hour before drinking. This wine pairs particularly well with saddle of wild boar with cranberry jus, duck breast with Pinot reduction, or a ripe Époisses — a wine for moments when the evening can take its time.
