Grande Cuvée Rouge, Côtes de Provence AOP, Domaine des Féraud

Grande Cuvée Rouge, Côtes de Provence AOP, Domaine des Féraud
A red wine from Provence that shows the region is capable of more than just rosé: dark fruity, spicy, with real backbone.
Domaine des Féraud lies in the heart of the Côtes de Provence, one of France's oldest wine regions. The area around Vidauban is characterized by limestone and clay soils, a Mediterranean climate, and a long tradition of red wine production—although rosé receives the most attention here.
On the nose, the Grande Cuvée Rouge opens with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and a distinct hint of dried herbs—thyme and bay leaf—typical of the garrigue landscape of Provence. These are complemented by notes of vanilla and cedar from the oak aging. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a ripe fruit depth supported by fresh spice. The finish is long and balsamic.
