Granbruno

The Granbruno from Castello di Radda is a red wine from the heart of Chianti Classico — a hilly landscape between Florence and Siena that has been one of Italy's most significant red wine terroirs for centuries. Galestro soils, cool nights at an altitude of over 500 meters, and the Tuscan climate shape Sangiovese grapes here with a special acidity structure and depth.

Castello di Radda is located in the town of the same name, one of the classic centers of Chianti Classico. The estate's wines stand for artisanal vinification with respect for the terroir — aging in wooden barrels gives the Granbruno structure without masking the varietal-typical freshness. In the glass, aromas of sour cherry and plum appear, underpinned by tobacco, dried herbs, and a hint of earth. The tannins are present but fine-grained; the acidity gives the wine drive and length. The finish is warm, spicy, and persistent.

It is best served at 16–18 °C — with Bistecca alla Fiorentina, braised wild boar, or an aged Pecorino Toscano. It also pairs well with pasta with ragù or mushroom risotto.

Castello di Radda

Radda in Chianti lies in the heart of Tuscany – and this is exactly where Castello di Radda is rooted. The wines from this estate stand for what makes Chianti Classico so special: Sangiovese that grows on hilly sites between Florence and Siena, developing a depth that you can drink, not just describe. Cherry aromas, vibrant acidity, a finish with bite.

In addition to the characterful Sangiovese, the range also includes cuvées with Merlot – a counterweight that brings fullness without blurring the Tuscan signature. Three wines that show how much a clearly defined region of origin contributes to the bottle.
