Gimmeldinger Biengarten Spätburgunder QW Pfalz VDP.Erstes Gewächs 0.75L

The Gimmeldinger Biengarten is one of the most renowned vineyards in the Palatinate — a VDP.Erste Lage with soils characterized by limestone and terra fusca and a southeastern orientation, which offers the Pinot Noir exactly the conditions it needs for depth and structure.

Weingut A. Christmann from Gimmeldingen is one of the leading addresses for German Pinot Noir. Biodynamically managed and Demeter-certified, the winery works consistently in the vineyard — with the goal of translating the character of the site into the bottle. The VDP.Erste-Gewächs predicate stands for dry-vinified site wines with a clear statement of origin.

In the glass, the wine shows the typical elegance of Pinot Noir from limestone soils: aromas of sour cherry and raspberry confit, underpinned by a hint of earth, fine cedar wood, and a subtle spice. The tannins are ripe and silky, the acidity present without sharpness, the finish long and mineral.

Best served at 16–17 °C — with venison fillet with mushroom jus, braised duck, or a ripe Comté. Even without food, a wine that deserves time in the glass.
