Geltz/Zilliken Saarburger Riesling dry

A Riesling that hits the strengths of the Saar on the mark: taut acidity, clear fruit, mineral pull.

Forstmeister Geltz Zilliken is one of the most renowned wineries in the Saar. The Zilliken family has been cultivating steep slopes around Saarburg for generations, including the famous Saarburger Rausch. The focus is exclusively on Riesling – vinified with the goal of bringing the cool minerality of the slate soil into the bottle.

In the glass, the dry Saarburger Riesling shows aromas of grapefruit, green apple, and a hint of lychee. The acidity is precise and invigorating without appearing sharp – typical for the Saar, where cooler temperatures allow for longer ripening times and finer acidity structures. The finish is fresh, with a subtle slate note in the background.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C.
Pairs well with grilled fish, goat cheese, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, or Asian dishes with citrus notes.
