Etter Vieille Pomme Royale Gravensteiner Apple 40% Vol. 0.7L

The Vieille Pomme Royale is a barrel-aged apple brandy made from Gravensteiner apples, a classic Swiss fruit brandy with 40% vol. It combines juicy fruit with the calm of maturity and belongs to the brandies that you drink rather slowly and concentrated.

Behind it is Etter Söhne AG from Zug, a distillery with a long tradition in Swiss fruit distilling. The Gravensteiner is an aromatic apple variety that gives the distillate its juicy fruitiness. Barrel aging complements it with vanilla, caramel and a fine roasted note. We do not have information on the duration and type of barrel, so we leave it open.

In the glass, the brandy appears warm and inviting. On the nose, ripe apples stand next to vanilla and caramel. On the palate, it is round and structured, without sweet heaviness, the fruit remains clearly recognizable and the roasted note sets a calm counterpoint. The finish is long, fruit-driven and slightly spicy.

Recommendation: neat at room temperature in a tulip glass, classically at the end of a meal or for a convivial evening. It pairs well with nut pastries, baked apples or a mild cheese, where the glass sets the tone.
