El Meson Rioja Blanco DOCa

An uncomplicated Rioja Blanco made from the Viura grape – fresh, dry and just right for warm days or a quick evening on the balcony.

Bodega El Meson is one of the established wineries of Rioja Alta and relies on the region's classic house grape for its white wine: Viura, also known as Macabeo, is vinified here young and without oak aging – a style that emphasizes the natural freshness of the grape variety.

In the glass, the Blanco displays a pale straw yellow. The nose is direct and approachable: lemon zest, green apple, a hint of white blossoms. On the palate, lively acidity, a lean body, and a short, clean finish. Not a wine for long cellaring – it shines young and chilled.

Serving suggestion: Serve well chilled at 8–10 °C. Pairs well with prawns with aioli, grilled sea bream fillet, light vegetable dishes, or simply as an aperitif with olives and Manchego cheese.

Bodega El Meson

The Spanish winery Bodega El Meson is located in the renowned Rioja region, specifically in the La Rioja Alavesa area. The winery's vineyards lie near the Ebro River and are characterized by calcareous and clay soils. The closer one gets to the river, the more the soils consist of alluvial deposits and gravel. The Atlantic climate is characterized by fresh mountain air and abundant sunshine, resulting in warm days and cool nights, providing optimal conditions. Bodega El Meson cultivates grape varieties such as Granacha, Tempranillo, and Viura for its wines.
