Disaronno Originale is an Italian almond liqueur: sweet, soft, and of a warm, amber color. The angular bottle from the house of Illva Saronno has been a permanent fixture in many bars for decades.

The name refers to its origin: Saronno in Lombardy. At 28% ABV, it remains mild enough to drink neat and strong enough to hold its own in mixed drinks. The bottle holds a full liter, practical for the bar and home use.

In the glass, bitter almond and marzipan dominate, accompanied by honey, raisins, and vanilla. A note of cake glaze underscores the sweetness, and a fresh citrus accent keeps it in balance. The texture is velvety, the finish soft and almondy.

Try it neat on ice with an orange zest, in a Disaronno Sour with fresh lemon juice, or in a Godfather with whiskey. In the kitchen, it pairs well over vanilla ice cream, with tiramisu, or with panna cotta.
