Disaronno On-Pack with glass

Disaronno is an amaretto from Saronno in Lombardy: bittersweet, velvety, and with a clear almond character. This set includes the matching glass, so all you need is ice.

It is produced by Illva Saronno; the exact recipe remains a trade secret. The liqueur has 28% ABV and comes in the distinctive square bottle. The brand refers to a legend dating back to 1525.

In the glass, marzipan and bitter almond dominate, accompanied by a note of caramel. The texture is soft and round. The sweetness is at the forefront but is balanced by the tart almond note. The finish is almondy and lingering.

Recommendation: neat on ice with a slice of lemon. As a cocktail, it fits into the Disaronno Sour, where lemon juice provides the necessary acidity, or in the Godfather with whisky. As a long drink, it works with cola. It also tastes good over vanilla ice cream or with an espresso after a meal.
