Core Bianco Campania IGT
White wine from Campania that shows what Fiano can achieve in the right hands: no heavy southern Italian fruit, but tension, salt, and length.
Montevetrano is located in the province of Salerno and is primarily known for the red wine of the same name—one of the first cult wines of Campania. It is no coincidence that the winery has also added a Fiano to its range with the Core Bianco: the region around Mount Vesuvius and the Avellinese hills is considered the home of Italy's best Fiano sites, and Montevetrano brings the same care to the cellar that made the estate famous.
In the glass, the wine opens with aromas of white peach, pear, and lemon zest, with Mediterranean herbs in the background. On the palate, it is juicy but never lush—yellow apple, ripe citrus fruit, and a hint of almond, carried by lively acidity and fine creaminess. The finish is long, mineral, and salty, with a lingering herbal tone.
Good with grilled sea bass with capers, pasta with vongole, or a plate of fried zucchini with ricotta. Serving temperature: 10–12 °C.
