Comte de Sénéjac AOC Haut-Médoc

Intense notes of black berries, plums, strawberries, and licorice; powerful yet balanced on the palate with subtle toasty aromas from the wood, the tannins possess great finesse; the finish is remarkably long and smooth. Vineyards planted in the 16th century by the landowner Nicolas de Blois formed the foundation. In the 17th century, the château and vineyards passed into the possession of Marshal d'Ornano, Governor of Guyenne and Mayor of Bordeaux. It then remained in the hands of noblemen and aristocrats until 1999, when Lorraine Cordier acquired the estate and realized her vision of a Médoc wine. She invested considerable time and money to transform the vineyards into some of the finest in the Médoc. Today, her sister Nancy manages the winery.
