Colle al Fico Syrah Rosso IGT Tuscany 1.5L

Single-varietal Syrah from Tuscany, powerful and densely built, but with freshness in its backbone. The 1.5-liter magnum brings it to the table when several glasses are to be filled.

The Colle al Fico comes from one of the best cru sites of the Petra winery in San Lorenzo. The soils are slightly calcareous, loamy-sandy. The wine matures for twelve months in barriques, 20% of which are new, followed by at least ten months in the bottle. It has 14% vol and is dry.

It shows an intense ruby red in the glass. On the nose, spicy notes, undergrowth, and a hint of vanilla appear. On the palate, it is powerful and structured; the freshness carries it, and mineral nuances give it drive.

Serve it at 16 to 18 °C, preferably in a carafe beforehand. It goes with braised wild boar ragout, grilled rack of lamb, or aged Pecorino. The magnum comes into its own at a dinner together at a large table.
