Colle al Fico Syrah Rosso IGT Tuscany

A single-varietal Syrah from Tuscany that brings together power and freshness. The Colle al Fico comes from one of the best cru vineyards of the Petra winery in San Lorenzo, where slightly calcareous, loamy-sandy soils give the vines structure and a mineral note.

The 2022 vintage shows in an intense ruby red. On the nose, spicy notes meet undergrowth and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, it is powerful and densely built; the freshness keeps it in balance, and mineral nuances extend into the finish. The wine matures for 12 months in barriques, 20% of which are new, then for at least 10 months in the bottle. It is produced dry and has 14% vol.

As an accompaniment, braised beef, grilled lamb with rosemary, or an aged Pecorino are suitable. Serve it at 16 to 18 °C and give it some air in the decanter beforehand, then the spice and fruit will come into their own better.
