Churchill's Dry White Port

Very clear, delicate fruit, fine nutty aromas on the finish, elegant and very harmonious. The story of Churchill's is a magnificent success story. The driving force behind the young company is Johnny Graham. His family owned the famous port wine house WJ Graham. His father sold Graham in the 1970s when Johnny was still in school. Nevertheless, port wine is in his blood, and he worked as a winemaker at major port wine houses like Cockburn's and Taylor's. In 1981, he founded his own port wine house with his two brothers. He named it Churchill's, after his wife, whose surname is Churchill. Johnny Graham's ambition is to produce only top-quality wines. Step by step, he created the conditions for this: his own grapes from Cima Corgo, A-site sites in the best region, and the finest vineyards. The grapes are harvested by hand, carefully sorted, and foot-crushed in lagares (large stone basins). Churchill's is one of the few port wine houses that controls the entire production process itself. The results are stunning. Robert Parker awarded 93 points to the 1985 Vintage Port. Churchill's achieved tremendous success at the 2002 International Wine Challenge. Three of its Vintage Ports received gold medals, three more silver medals, and the 1985 Vintage Port won the Top Trophy. This gave Churchill's more medals than any other port house. The 2011 vintage was exceptional, with its Vintage Port earning a remarkable 97 points from Wine Spectator.
