Churchill's 10 Year Old Tawny Port

Churchill's 10 Year Old Tawny Port is a mature port wine with an oxidative character: amber in color, complex, with intense aromas of dried fruit and a fine bread crust in the background.

Behind Churchill's is Johnny Graham, whose family owned the legendary port wine house WJ Graham. After selling it in the 1970s, Johnny gained experience at Cockburn's and Taylor's before founding his own house with his brothers in 1981 – named after his wife, whose surname is Churchill. Since then, Churchill's has produced exclusively from its own grapes in Cima Corgo, the heart of the Douro. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the maceration is traditionally done in lagares using foot pedals. This commitment to complete control over the production process is reflected in the results: Parker points, gold at the International Wine Challenge, and 97 points from Wine Spectator for the 2011 vintage.

In the glass, the Tawny reveals dried fig, raisin, and a nutty, slightly caramelized depth – typical of oxidative aging over ten years. The finish is long and warm, with well-integrated sweetness. Serving temperature: 14–16 °C. Pairs well with blue cheese, walnut tart, or dark chocolate – also a harmonious digestif after a meal.

Churchill's Port

Churchill's is a family-run boutique producer of premium Port and Douro wines, founded in 1981 by winemaker and master blender Johnny Graham, whose family legacy in the Douro stretches back six generations. As the last independent British port house, Churchill's is dedicated to crafting highly personal, Drier-style ports and vibrant Douro terroir wines using minimal intervention and sustainable viticulture. The heart of their production lies in their traditional aging lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia and their 50-hectare Grade-A vineyard, Quinta da Gricha, located in the prestigious Cima Corgo sub-region of the Douro Valley.
