Chorey-Les-Beaune AC 0.75L
Chorey-lès-Beaune is one of the more accessible appellations of the Côte de Beaune — and Joseph Drouhin shows here what Burgundian Pinot Noir can achieve in this location: a wine with character, without the severity of the great Premiers Crus.
The Drouhin house has been one of the defining négociants and domaines of Burgundy since 1880. The grapes for this Chorey-lès-Beaune come from clay and limestone soils at the foot of the Corton hill, near Beaune — soils that give the Pinot Noir structure and a fine minerality.
In the glass, a clear ruby red appears. On the nose, sour cherry, raspberry, and a hint of violet, plus a subtle earthy note that is typical for this appellation. On the palate, medium body, soft tannins, and a lively acidity that keeps the finish fresh.
Best served at 14–16 °C. Pairs well with coq au vin, grilled duck breast, mushroom risotto, or a ripe Époisses.
