Château Saint Pierre 4ème Grand Cru Classé AC Saint-Julien 0.75L
A classic Médoc from one of the smallest and least known appellations on the left bank — Saint-Julien delivers what the appellation is famous for: structure, depth and an elegance that needs no loud notes.
Château Saint-Pierre is one of the historic Fourth Growths of the Médoc (4ème Grand Cru Classé, classification 1855) and lies in the heart of Saint-Julien, bordered by Léoville and Ducru-Beaucaillou. The château is one of the smallest in the appellation, lending the wine a certain rarity. The gravel and clay soils over a calcareous subsoil define the mineral structure that distinguishes Saint-Julien from Pauillac and Margaux.
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red color. Aromas of blackcurrant, cedarwood, and dried herbs are underpinned by a subtle mineral note. The palate is medium-bodied with present but ripe tannins and a firm acidity that promises longevity. The finish is long, spicy, and dry.
Serving temperature 16–18 °C . Pairs well with herb-crusted lamb loin, entrecôte, or aged Cantal. Those with patience will be rewarded with further cellar aging.
