Château Martinet Saint Emilion Grand Cru
The wines of Château Martinet are blessed with a complexity of subtle aromas, featuring notes of red fruit as well as the vanilla and blackcurrant aromas so typical of Bordeaux. A well-rounded wine on the palate, with elegant tannins and a very smooth mouthfeel. This Saint Emilion Grand Cru pairs beautifully with game birds, red meat, lamb, and creamy cheeses. At Château Martinet, the grapes are harvested by hand before being gently pressed. Winemaking takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The young wines then age for 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels before bottling.

Château Martinet – an 18th-century manor house nestled within 25 hectares of land in the heart of Libourne. Twenty hectares of vines on typical gravelly soils, tended by the de Lavaux family. 65 percent Merlot, 35 percent Cabernet Franc. Soil cultivation, pruning, hand-harvesting, sorting – all done with the utmost care. The result: a delicate, elegant wine, one of the most sought-after crus in Saint-Émilion. Gilles Pauquet and Stéphane Toutoundji are responsible for its production. Pauquet, incidentally, is also responsible for the wines at Château Cheval Blanc. Saint-Émilion as it should be.
