Chateau Malbec Bordeaux

Chateau Malbec Bordeaux
An accessible Bordeaux with a clear fruit line – structured enough for the cellar, ready to drink for tonight.
S.C. Du Lort is located in the southwest of Bordeaux, where Malbec is traditionally grown as a companion to Merlot and Cabernet – long before the grape variety began its triumphant march through Argentina. That it appears here in the name of the wine is an indication of its high proportion in the blend and thus of the characteristic profile of this wine: more meat, more color, slightly more depth than a pure Merlot Bordeaux.
In the glass, it glows a powerful ruby red with a violet rim. On the nose, blackberry, black cherry, and a hint of plum jam, underpinned by subtle roasted aromas from the wood aging. On the palate, medium body, firm but not coarse tannins, the fruit carries through to the finish. Decanter has rated this wine with 95 out of 100 points – a remarkable result for an everyday Bordeaux.
Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs with leg of lamb with herbs of Provence, aged Cantal, or a steak from the grill.

Château du Lort is located just a few minutes from the heart of Bordeaux – and yet it feels like another world. Between forests and 21 hectares of vines, the Castel family has shaped a winery since 1984 that knows its own quiet rhythm.
In the glass, this attitude is clearly shown: dark berry fruits, a hint of vanilla, gently roasted notes – and underneath a silky tannin structure that gains depth step by step. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot come together to form a Bordeaux Supérieur that does not claim elegance, but simply has it.
Sustainably certified since 2012 – no greenwashing, but lived respect for soil and nature.
