Château Le Bruilleau AOC Pessac-Léognan Blanc

A white Pessac-Léognan that shows why the appellation is taken just as seriously for its white wines as for its reds: substantial, dry, with a depth not always found in this price range.

Château Le Bruilleau is a small family winery in the fourth generation, rooted in the clay and limestone soils of Pessac-Léognan, the southernmost tip of the Graves. These soils give the Sémillon its characteristic fullness and at the same time a mineral tension that carries the wine. Artisanal vinification is in the foreground — and the respect for the terroir is clearly evident in the quality of the recent vintages.

In the glass, the Sémillon dominates with aromas of white peach, beeswax, and a hint of elderflower. The body is full-bodied, the texture creamy-round, the acidity present but integrated. The finish is long and slightly nutty — a sign of well-ripened grape material.

Served at 10–12 °C, this Blanc pairs with grilled turbot, chicken in cream sauce, or a ripe Brie de Meaux. It also cuts a fine figure as a companion to light appetizers with goat cheese.
