Château Latour 1er Cru Classé AC Pauillac 0.75L

Château Latour is one of the few wineries that needs no long explanations — the name alone stands for what Pauillac can do when everything is right. As one of the five Premiers Crus Classés of 1855, the estate on the west bank of the Gironde produces Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated red wines that count among the most structured and long-lived of the Médoc.

Pauillac is known for its deep gravel soils, which store heat and guarantee drainage — ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. In the glass, the typical profile of the appellation appears: dark cassis, cedar wood, graphite, and a hint of dried herbs. The tannins are firm and precise, the acidity well-integrated, the finish long and mineral. Not a wine for the impatient, but one that builds up layer by layer over time.

It pairs best with hearty meat dishes: leg of lamb with rosemary, beef fillet, or aged Comté. Serving temperature: 17–18 °C — and plan sufficient time for decanting so that the bouquet can fully unfold.
