Château La Tour de Mons

Château La Tour de Mons is a red wine from the Margaux appellation in Bordeaux, France, classified as a Cru Bourgeois. The estate comprises approximately 48 hectares of contiguous vineyards on gravelly and clay soils, which promote an elegant, finely structured style.

The wine is based on a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon , complemented by small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The grapes ferment under temperature control before the wine is aged for 12–18 months in small oak barrels, some of which are new.

In the glass, it displays a deep purple-red color with ruby highlights. The nose is fruity and spicy, with aromas of black berries, cherry, plum, cocoa, vanilla, and a hint of tobacco and cedar. On the palate, the wine is juicy, slightly fleshy, and smooth, with fine, well-integrated tannins, crisp acidity, and a long, elegant finish.

With an alcohol content of approximately 13–14% ABV, La Tour de Mons is ideally suited to beef, lamb, game, or aged cheeses; it is served at 16–18 °C, lightly decanted. Thanks to its structure, the wine is also suitable for aging for 10–20 years.
