Château La Serre

Château La Serre stands for what defines Saint-Émilion: depth without heaviness, fruit with a mineral backbone. A wine that honestly reflects its vintage.

The estate is located on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, one of the most respected terroirs on the right bank. Monsieur d'Arfeuille and his team run the Château with the goal of bringing the natural balance of the soil into the bottle – without overworking, without exaggeration. The cuvée is based on Merlot, supplemented by Cabernet Franc, as is typical for the best sites of Saint-Émilion.

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red. The nose brings dark cherry, blackberry, and a hint of graphite – the mineral framework that has defined this place for generations. On the palate, full-bodied, with velvety tannin and a lively acidity structure that gives the wine tension and length. The finish is lingering, with notes of cedar wood and lavender.

Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. With a decanting time of at least 30 minutes. Pairs with rack of lamb with herb crust, braised beef, or mature Comté.
