Château La Mission Haut-Brion Cru Classé AC Pessac-Léognan 0.75L
La Mission Haut-Brion is one of the great addresses of the Graves — located right next to its famous neighbor, with a history that dates back to the 17th century. The winery in Pessac, now part of the Clarence Dillon group, produces red wines on gravelly-loamy soil that are known for their density and longevity.
The cuvée combines Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc into a wine of considerable structure. On the nose, dark cassis, blackberry, and a hint of graphite appear — the typical mineral profile of the Graves. On the palate, ripe but precise tannins follow, a dense fruit center, and a long finish with notes of cedar wood and tobacco. The color: intense garnet with a violet rim.
Best served at 16–18 °C with rack of lamb with herb crust, entrecôte, or aged Comté. For those who don't need an occasion: a glass of this deserves silence and time.
