Château La Grave AC Pomerol

A Pomerol that focuses more on elegance and juiciness than on power: The Château La Grave appears dark garnet red with ruby red reflections and a bouquet that is equally fruity and floral.

The winery is located in Pomerol on the right bank of Bordeaux. Here, this appellation stands for velvety, accessible red wines. In this dry wine, Cabernet Franc is the focus, and that defines the style: it appears fine rather than heavy.

In the nose, forest berries and violet blossoms meet a hint of cassis. On the palate, the wine is juicy and well-structured, the acidity fresh and harmoniously integrated, the tannins ripe and velvety. The finish is very long and spicy.

Serve it at 16–18 °C, open the bottle about an hour beforehand, and feel free to decant it. It goes with roasted or braised dishes of dark meat with rich sauces and fruity components, as well as aged raw milk hard cheese or aromatic semi-hard cheese.
