Château Joanin Bécot AC Côtes de Castillon 0.75L
A red wine from the right bank of Bordeaux that shows what the Côtes de Castillon can do: structured, aromatically dense and with the elegance that Cabernet Franc develops on limestone soils.
Château Joanin Bécot belongs to the Bécot family, who also own the renowned Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé B Château Beau-Séjour Bécot. The Côtes de Castillon lies directly east of Saint-Émilion and shares its limestone and clay soils—a terroir that imparts particular spice and depth to Cabernet Franc. Joanin Bécot is considered one of the most reliable estates in the appellation.
In the glass, the wine displays aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, and delicate herbal notes—the typical profile of Cabernet Franc from this corner of Bordeaux. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe, well-integrated tannins and a fresh acidity that provides length. The finish is pleasantly spicy.
Best served at 16–18 °C . Pairs well with entrecôte, leg of lamb with herbs de Provence, or a mature Tomme. If desired, open the bottle half an hour before serving—the wine will reward you with greater openness.
