Château Gloria Cru Bourgeois AC Saint-Julien 0.75L
Château Gloria is one of the most remarkable addresses in Saint-Julien — not a classified growth, but for decades on par with many Crus Classés of the appellation. Henri Martin expanded the winery from the 1940s onwards from parcels that once belonged to renowned Châteaux, and thus laid the foundation for a wine that combines the typical elegance of the Médoc with genuine substance.
In the glass, it shows a red wine with the unmistakable character of Saint-Julien: aromas of dark cherry, cassis, and a hint of cedar wood, as is typical for ripe Médoc wines with Cabernet content. The palate is medium-full, the tannins present but well-integrated — the finish remains long and spicy.
Château Gloria pairs well with classic Bordeaux companions: rack of lamb with herb crust, entrecôte, or ripe Comté. Drinking temperature 16–18 °C. Decanting recommended — 30 to 45 minutes noticeably open up the wine.
