Château Dauzac Margaux

The year 2014 was characterized by an atypical climate with a mild, rainy winter and an early spring with mild temperatures and cool nights. It was an early year, similar to 1990 and other great vintages. May was mixed with cool periods and temperatures reaching 30°C. Flowering took place under good conditions, with some grape fragmentation for the Merlots, which promoted aeration of the grapes. A disappointing summer with poor weather slowed the vine growth. Autumn was fabulous in September and October, dry and warm, the warmest in 100 years, which allowed the grapes to concentrate and achieve exceptional ripeness. Deep purple color with ruby undertones. Very delicate yet complex aroma with a hint of gingerbread. On the palate, very soft and subtle tannins and flavors, a subtle mouthfeel with long-lasting, soft blackcurrant tannins. A well-balanced wine with a silky texture that promises excellent aging potential. Aged in barriques for 15 months. Enjoy by 2017-2030. Wine Spectator: 92 points

Château Dauzac

Château Dauzac, a Grand Cru Classé Margaux wine with its fifth growth according to the 1855 classification, has the privilege of owning a 49-hectare vineyard block: 45 hectares in the Margaux appellation and 4 hectares in the Haut-Médoc appellation. The estate lies near the Gironde estuary, whose influence on the vineyard ecosystem is crucial. Thanks to 120 hectares of meadows and woodlands, it is sheltered from sea winds. This agronomic bubble and unique terroir have allowed for the development of precision farming practices through the careful selection of parcels, highlighting the exceptional qualities of this Grand Cru Classé wine.
