Charmes-Chambertin AC Grand Cru 0.75L

The Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru from Maison Joseph Drouhin is one of the great names of the Côte de Nuits — a Pinot Noir that shows the depth and elegance of Gevrey-Chambertin in its purest form. The Charmes-Chambertin site is located directly south of Chambertin and, at just under 30 hectares, is one of the most significant Grand Cru appellations in Burgundy.

Joseph Drouhin has been rooted in Beaune since 1880 and has been cultivating its sites according to biodynamic principles since the 1990s. The house stands for artisanal precision in the cellar and for a style that does not pit concentration and finesse against each other, but rather combines them.

In the glass, it shows a luminous ruby red. On the nose, the wine opens with aromas of cherry, blackberry, and dried violets, underscored by a fine hint of undergrowth and clove. On the palate, it feels full but never heavy — silky tannins, a lively acidity structure, and a long, mineral-driven finish with a delicate spicy tone.

Best served at 16–17 °C. Pairs with game birds, venison fillet with mushrooms, or a ripe Époisses.
