Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses AC Premier Cru 0.75L
Les Amoureuses lies in the heart of Chambolle-Musigny — and no other Premier Cru of the Côte de Nuits is mentioned in the same breath as the great vineyards of Burgundy so often. Maison Joseph Drouhin, rooted in Beaune since 1880 and known for decades for its fine handling of Pinot Noir, bottles a wine here that captures the essence of Chambolle perfectly: elegance instead of power, depth instead of opulence.
The clay-limestone soil of the vineyard gives the wine its characteristic contour and mineral tension. In the glass, it glows in a rich ruby red with cherry-red reflections. The nose reveals sour cherry and fresh raspberry, underpinned by violets and a hint of strawberry — the typical aroma profile that distinguishes Chambolle from the heavier appellations of the Côte de Nuits. On the palate, fine, silky tannins, lively acidity, and a long, slightly mineral finish that does not deny its origin.
On the table, this Premier Cru pairs well with squab with lentils, rack of lamb with herbs, or mature Époisses. Serving temperature: 14–16 °C. Decanting for 30 minutes is worthwhile to unfold the full aroma profile.
