Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG Tuscany

The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva from Tenuta le Potazzine shows Sangiovese Grosso in its classic form: juicy and finely drawn, with a clear structure and plenty of depth.

The grapes grow in Montalcino in Tuscany, the home of Brunello. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with the natural yeasts of the grapes. The wine then matures for 42 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. Large barrels give the wine structure and depth without masking it with wood aromas.

In the glass, there is a medium ruby red with a slightly lightening rim. On the nose, you will find raspberry, strawberry, and cherry, along with rose petals, licorice, and a hint of thyme. On the palate, the wine is dry, balanced, and carried by fine acidity. The finale is juicy and long.

Serve it at 16–18 °C and decant it an hour beforehand. It pairs well with pappardelle with wild boar ragout, braised beef, or aged Pecorino toscano.
