Breisgau QW Baden 0.75L
The Breisgau white wine from Bernhard Huber is a cuvée of Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc — clear, precise, without frills. If you are looking for Burgundian style in the Breisgau, this is the right place.
Bernhard Huber is one of the defining names in Baden. The winery in Malterdingen has made a name for itself primarily through its Spätburgunder, but the Breisgau shows that the white line is consistently considered as well. The grapes come from the surroundings of Malterdingen, one of the best sites in Baden with loess and limestone soils that give the wine its mineral basic structure.
In the glass, a clear, reductive style is shown: aromas of white peach, pear, and a hint of almond, underpinned by fine minerality. On the palate, taut, with lively acidity and a clean, dry finish without heaviness.
Served at 10–12 °C, it pairs well with goat cheese, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, or pan-fried char. It also makes a good impression as an aperitif on a warm evening.
