Bourgogne Pinot Noir Laforêt AC 0.75L

The Laforêt from Joseph Drouhin is the classic entry into the world of red Burgundy – accessible, clearly varietal-typical, and with the craftsmanship of one of the most renowned négociant houses of the Côte d'Or in the background.

Maison Joseph Drouhin was founded in Beaune in 1880 and today farms around 90 hectares of its own vineyards in Burgundy and Oregon. The Laforêt – the name means "the forest" – comes from strictly selected parcels, preferably on slopes near the forest edge, on clay and limestone soils. These soils give the wine its typically cool minerality.

In the glass, it shows a light ruby red. On the nose, fresh cherry, raspberry, and a hint of dried rose petals. On the palate, light-weight with lively acidity, soft tannins, and a clean, slightly spicy finish – as a good Pinot Noir from Burgundy should be.

Best served at 14–16 °C, it pairs well with salmon en papillote, chicken with herbs of Provence, or a ripe Époisses. It also cuts a fine figure as an uncomplicated companion to a simple evening with charcuterie.
