Benediktusberg Riesling Auslese QW Franconia 0.375L

A Riesling Auslese from Franconia, where dense fruit and taut acidity are in balance. The 0.375-liter bottle is just right for a dessert for two or the end of a meal.

The grapes grow on the Benediktusberg and come from Rudolf May. The 2025 vintage was a very good year for luscious wines: dry, windy weather in October concentrated the berries, and at the end of October, highly ripe Riesling grapes were harvested selectively. This results in this Auslese with the typical Franconian minerality of the site.

In the glass, ripe apricot, candied citrus fruits, and a hint of honey, plus floral notes. On the palate, juicy sweetness, dense fruit, and a precise acidity that gives the wine tension and a long finish.

Drink it well chilled at 8 to 10 °C. It goes well with blue cheese, Tarte Tatin or apricot cake, and Foie gras. It works just as well solo as a dessert substitute.
