Beaune Montrevenots Premier Cru AC 0.75L

The Beaune Montrevenots Premier Cru lies on the northern border to Pommard – one of the highest-altitude Premier Cru sites of the Côte de Beaune, where lime and clay-rich soils with southern exposure give the Pinot Noir an unusual combination of structure and warmth.

Domaine Jean Monnier & Fils has been farming sites in Meursault and Beaune for generations and stands for artisanally precise Burgundy without showmanship. The Montrevenots site is a matter of the heart for the winery: the proximity to Pommard is reflected in the glass by a more powerful character than one is used to from central Beaune sites.

In the glass, it presents a deep ruby red Pinot Noir with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and a hint of lavender. On the palate, it shows itself firmly structured, with grippy but ripe tannins and a lively acidity that gives the wine length and tension. The finish is spicy, with a hint of earth and dark spice.

Best served at 16–17 °C – with Coq au Vin, entrecôte with herb butter, or a ripe Époisses.
