Beaune Clos des Mouches Rouges AC Premier Cru 0.75L

The Clos des Mouches is one of the most famous Premier Cru sites in Beaune — a vineyard with history that produces both red and white wine. Joseph Drouhin, one of the most traditional négociant houses of the Côte de Beaune, has been cultivating its own plots here for decades and vinifies the Pinot Noir with the care typical of the house.

In the glass, a deep ruby red appears. On the nose, red fruits dominate initially — cherry, raspberry — accompanied by smoky notes and a hint of licorice. With maturity, pepper, tobacco, and earthy humus tones come to the fore, which are characteristic of aged Burgundies from Beaune. On the palate, the wine appears meaty and structured, with the silkiness in the tannin typical of Pinot Noir and a lively acidity that gives the wine length and tension.

Served at 16–17 °C, it pairs with Coq au Vin, veal medallions with morel sauce, or a ripe Époisses. Those who want to decant it should give it half an hour in the carafe — that noticeably opens up the aromatics.
