Barolo Riserva 'Costa di Bussia' DOCG

A Barolo from Bussia – one of the most prestigious vineyards in all of Piedmont. This Cru vineyard is located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, where the Nebbiolo grape develops a special depth on calcareous soils with tuff and sandstone components, a depth that unfolds over years in the Riserva quality.

The Costa di Bussia estate boasts a history dating back to 1874. Luigi Arnulfo purchased the property that year and quickly established himself as a pioneer: he bottled his Barolo at a time when this was far from commonplace, thus opening up international markets. Today, Paolo Sartirano continues to manage the estate – with the same commitment to the location.

In the glass, the Riserva displays intense aromas of dried roses, dark cherries, and a hint of tobacco and leather. On the palate, it is powerful and dense: blackcurrant, licorice, and truffle, supported by ripe, well-integrated tannins. The finish is long, spicy, and mineral – typical of Nebbiolo from Bussia.

Drinking window: from now until at least 2035. Serving temperature 17–18 °C. Pairs perfectly with braised beef, venison ragù or a mature Parmigiano Reggiano.
