Barolo Riserva 'Costa di Bussia' DOCG

A Barolo from Bussia – one of the most renowned sites in the entire Piedmont. The cru site is located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, where the Nebbiolo develops a special depth on calcareous soils with tuff and sandstone components, which unfolds over years in the Riserva quality.

The Costa di Bussia estate looks back on a history that dates back to 1874. Luigi Arnulfo bought the property at that time and positioned himself early as a pioneer: he bottled his Barolo when that was by no means a matter of course, and opened up international markets. Today, Paolo Sartirano continues to run the estate – with the same high standards for the site.

In the glass, the Riserva shows intense aromas of dried roses, dark cherries, and a hint of tobacco and leather. On the palate, powerful and dense: black currant, licorice, and truffle, carried by ripe, well-integrated tannins. The finish is long, spicy, and mineral – typical for Nebbiolo from Bussia.

Serving temperature 17–18 °C. Pairs excellently with braised beef, game ragù, or an aged Parmigiano Reggiano.
