Bankhall Single Malt 0.7L

Bankhall is an English single malt from Liverpool, distilled from malted barley and aged in American oak barrels. Malt whisky from England is rare – which is reason enough to take a look into the glass.

Halewood is behind this bottling. The name refers to the Bankhall Distillery, which, according to the brand, was founded in Liverpool in 1790. The bottle continues this heritage as an independent English alternative to Scottish malts.

American oak typically brings vanilla, caramel, and coconut, as well as a soft, round texture. Therefore, expect sweet barrel notes and malt spice instead of smoke or peat.

Recommendation: neat in a tulip glass at room temperature, with a splash of water, or over a large ice cube. It also cuts a fine figure in an Old Fashioned or as a highball with ginger ale.
