Arbois Trousseau Béranger

Trousseau from the Jura is rare enough — Trousseau from the Béranger parcel even more so. The vineyard belonged for decades to Jacques Puffeney, arguably Arbois' most famous winemaker, before Domaine du Pélican took it over.

Trousseau is one of the Jura's most distinctive grape varieties: thin-skinned, late-ripening, and not very productive. The Béranger parcel yields a version with noticeable body and simultaneously a fine texture—a balancing act that few vineyards achieve. In the glass, it reveals dark cherry, pomegranate, and a spicy hint of clove and wet pebbles. The tannins are present but silky, the acidity firm enough for aging.

Serving suggestion: Decant now (30–45 min.) or age in the cellar until 2030+. Temperature: 16–17 °C. Pairs well with braised beef, Morteau sausage, Comté cheese, and hearty lentil dishes.
