Andeluna Raices Malbec WO Mendoza

The Raíces Malbec from Andeluna Cellars shows how dense and accessible Malbec from Mendoza can be: a dry red wine with clear varietal character, powerful in body, and soft in structure.

Andeluna Cellars is a winery in Mendoza, Argentina's most important wine region at the foot of the Andes. The grapes for the Raíces line come from the estate's vineyards. The name means "roots" and refers to the grape variety that has found its most defining home in Argentina.

In the glass, the 2025 glows in light ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, plum, blueberry, and blackberry meet violets, subtle spice, chocolate, mocha, and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied and dense; the tannins remain soft, the dark fruit carries into the long finish.

Recommendation: game, roasted lamb, pork, or hearty pieces of beef, as well as roasted vegetables, spicy cheese, or creamy mushroom and pepper sauces. Serve it at 16 to 18 °C.
