A red wine from Tuscany that combines accessibility and depth: The Lucente from Tenuta Luce shows what Merlot can achieve in this landscape — juicy, with clear fruit and an elegant structure.

Tenuta Luce is located in the heart of Montalcino and is a joint project of the Frescobaldi and Mondavi families. The Lucente is the house's second wine and carries the IGT Toscana classification — a sign that grape varieties and style are placed above appellation here. Merlot forms the base, supplemented by other Tuscan and international varieties.

On the nose, ripe blackberry and red currant, plus a delicate roasted note in the background. On the palate, juicy and lively, with ripe, well-defined tannins and a pleasantly long finish. The wine remains slim enough not to appear too heavy.

Goes well with pasta with ragù, grilled rack of lamb, or a mature Pecorino. Drinking temperature: 16–18 °C.
