Ramón Peña —
craftsmanship from Galicia, for three generations

Ramón Peña has stood for over 90 years for what matters most on the Galician Atlantic coast: freshly caught fish and seafood that are processed with care and without shortcuts. Founded in 1920 in Cambados, the company is now based in Ribadumia — in the middle of the Rías Gallegas, those sea inlets that cut deep into the land and are among the most productive fishing grounds in Europe.

Today, Nely Concheiro runs the house in the third generation. Little has changed in the philosophy: The raw material comes directly from the Rías, is processed according to traditional recipes, and bottled in small batches. The result is canned goods that are far more than pantry staples — sardines in olive oil, mussels, octopus, or clams that retain the character of their origin in the jar.

Anyone who brings Ramón Peña to the table doesn't need much else: good bread, a glass of Albariño from the neighborhood — and the courage to serve a tin as a full-fledged course.
