Villa di Corlo Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC Secco
Dry Lambrusco is the exact opposite of the sweet mass-produced wine that many still have in mind — and Grasparossa di Castelvetro is the deepest, most tannic version of this style.
Villa di Corlo lies in the hilly region south of Modena, in the heart of the Castelvetro DOC. The Grasparossa grape thrives here on heavy clay soils, producing dark, powerful wines with stable acidity and genuine tannins — unusual for a sparkling wine, but typical for this area.
In the glass, the Secco displays a deep ruby color with violet highlights; the perlage is fine and persistent. The nose offers aromas of sour cherry, blackberry, a hint of violet, and a touch of damp earth. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with noticeable but never harsh tannins and lively acidity that keeps the drink long and fresh. The finish is dry and fruity with a subtle mineral note.
