Terre Avare Primitivo IGT

A Primitivo as it should be from Apulia: dark-fruited, meaty, with enough melt for everyday life – but not without character.

Primitivo is the house grape variety of Apulia and naturally brings a lot of ripeness in this dry, sun-drenched landscape. Terre Avare produces a straightforward IGT from it, which relies on steel tanks instead of barriques – the fruit remains uncombed and direct in the glass.

The color: deep blackberry red, almost impenetrable. On the nose, dark forest berries, blackberry, and black cherry, plus a hint of vanilla and bittersweet chocolate. On the palate, soft and full-bodied, with ripe fruit and a round finish – no edgy tannins, no pressure from acidity.

  • Food: Pasta al ragù, grilled lamb chops, spicy salami, or strong Pecorino
  • Serving temperature: 16–18 °C

Terre Avare

The Minini family, originally from Lombardy, has been dedicated to viticulture since the 20s of the last century. Over time, various wineries in several provinces of Italy were founded or taken over by the Minini family, including the Terre Avare winery in Apulia.

Mario Minini and his friend Vincenzo launched the "Quality in Apulia" project, with Vincenzo contributing the vineyards and the winery in Apulia and Mario Minini providing the necessary capital. Elegant, modern wines are produced that can hold their own on the international market because they are of high quality. Today, the wines enjoy worldwide popularity.
