Terre Avare Primitivo IGT
A Primitivo as it should be from Apulia: dark-fruited, meaty, with enough smoothness for everyday use – but not without character.
Primitivo is the signature grape variety of Apulia, naturally producing a high level of ripeness in this dry, sun-drenched landscape. Terre Avare uses it to create a straightforward IGT wine, aged in stainless steel tanks rather than barriques – this allows the fruit to remain raw and direct in the glass.
The color: deep blackberry red, almost opaque. On the nose, dark forest berries, blackberry and black cherry, with a hint of vanilla and dark chocolate. On the palate, soft and full-bodied, with ripe fruit and a rounded finish – no harsh tannins, no acidity.
- Dishes: Pasta al ragù, grilled lamb chops, spicy salami or strong pecorino
- Serving temperature: 16–18 °C
- Drinking window: Drink now – this wine is designed for uncomplicated drinking pleasure, not a wine for aging.
Awarded gold at Mundus Vini (2018 vintage).
