Tenuta Sant'Alfonso Chianti Classico DOCG 0.75L

A single-varietal Sangiovese from the heart of the Chianti Classico region — clearly structured, dry and with the typical character of Tuscany between Florence and Siena.

Rocca delle Macìe was founded in 1973 by Italo Zingarelli and is today one of the most renowned family wineries in Chianti Classico. The grapes for this wine come exclusively from Tenuta Sant'Alfonso, one of the estate's core properties in the heart of the DOCG zone. Sangiovese grown on this soil brings what the region is known for: freshness, structure, and an unmistakable directness.

In the glass, the wine displays aromas of sour cherry and plum, along with dried herbs and a light leather note, typical of ripe Sangiovese. The acidity is lively, the tannins firm but not harsh—a red wine with bite and yet very drinkable. The finish is dry and medium-long with a hint of bitter almond.

Serving temperature 16–18 °C . Pairs well with Bistecca alla Fiorentina, venison ragù on pappardelle, or a mature Pecorino Toscano. Also a reliable choice as an accompaniment to tomato braise or leg of lamb.
