Sorentberg Rebel Riesling

Sorentberg Rebel Riesling
A semi-dry Riesling that doesn't focus on pleasing tastes, but on excitement: residual sweetness and crisp acidity are perfectly balanced — and that's exactly what makes it so suitable for everyday use.
Sorentberg stands for approachable, characterful wines from German vineyards. The Rebel Riesling is their uncomplicated representative of this king of grapes—not a heavy wine for aging, but a wine for the moment. Five months of lees aging give it more substance and depth than one would initially expect from this style: The lees impart a subtle creaminess that rounds out the wine without making it heavy.
In the glass, ripe apple notes and a hint of pear emerge, along with a touch of citrus zest in the background. The acidity is present and fresh without being sharp—the slight residual sweetness balances it, resulting in a pleasantly rounded and inviting finish. A touch of Riesling spice shimmers through in the finish.
Serving suggestion: Serve well chilled at 8–10 °C. Pairs well with Asian cuisine with sweet and sour notes, with tarte flambée and crème fraîche, with mildly spiced chicken, or simply as an aperitif on a warm evening. Best enjoyed now—this style thrives on its freshness.
