Sancerre Rouge La Poussie AC 0.375L

Red Sancerre is the exception in an appellation that is primarily known for Sauvignon Blanc. This Pinot Noir from the Domaine de la Poussie comes in a handy 0.375-liter bottle and is vinified dry.

The vines grow in the Loire Valley around Sancerre on limestone and clay soils. They define the style: plenty of freshness, a mineral line, and a wine that relies more on structure than on power.

In the glass, it shows a dark, clear ruby red. Morello cherries and elderberries dominate the nose, accompanied by floral hints and a touch of cocoa. On the palate, striking fruit meets ripe tannin and a fine acid structure. The texture remains supple, the style classic.

We recommend it slightly chilled at 14 to 16 °C. It goes well with air-dried ham, grilled antipasti, savory quiches, and aged cheese. The half-bottle is just enough for an evening for two.
