Samos
Samos Muscat from the Aegean Sea – dry, aromatic, with the unmistakable signature of Greek island winemaking. While Samos is often associated with sweet fortified wines, this dry Muscat reveals the island's other side.
The Union of Vinicultural Cooperatives of Samos (EOSS) has united the island's winegrowers for decades, thus keeping a centuries-old Muscat tradition alive. Samos is one of the oldest wine-growing regions in Greece; the vineyards on volcanic and calcareous soils with direct marine influence significantly shape the style of the wines.
In the glass, this dry Muscat displays the full aromatic profile of Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains: orange blossom, fresh peach, and a hint of white rose. On the palate, it offers lively acidity, a light body, and a long, aromatic finish without any residual sweetness – the special thing about this style is that the varietal floral character is preserved without becoming heavy.
Serving temperature: 8–10 °C . Pairs well with grilled octopus, goat cheese with thyme, or a simple tomato and feta salad. Also a great choice as an uncomplicated aperitif on the patio.
